Government Technology Productivity Gold Award 1999 |

The Land Information System Tasmania (the LIST), built by Geometry for the Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment in Tasmania, won the Government Technology Productivity Gold Award in April 1999. The National Technology in Government Committee present gold, silver and bronze awards annually to federal, state and local government departments and statutory authorities that have improved productivity and client service using new software. |

In September 2003, IRIS Tasmania won a coveted Gold Award at the Sixteenth Annual Government Technology Productivity Awards Presentation Ceremony in Sydney. The award was presented in recognition of the IRIS (Infrastructure and Resource Information Service) website, which provides a single access point to current, integrated information about Tasmania. |

Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Award |

Award for Overall Excellence 2004 Award for Emerging Industries 2004 Geometry in conjunction with its partner, Public Sector Mapping Agencies (PSMA) Limited Australia, were recognised for their leading edge work in the global spatial information industry, at the inaugural Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards. The Awards, held in Canberra late 2004, were organised by the Australian Spatial Industry Business Association and the Spatial Sciences Institute. The Geocoded National Address File (G-NAF), built by Geometry for PSMA, received the J.K. Barrie Overall Excellence Award, as well as the Emerging Industries Award. These awards represent the pinnacle of spatial achievement in the region. G-NAF is the first authoritative index of Australian addresses, each with a unique geographic coordinate. The award citation said G-NAF: "...is an outstanding example of the development of an operational database and system, which has delivered enormous efficiency gains. The project participants have developed what is likely to be the dominant standard for geocoding, setting new benchmarks in accuracy, comprehensiveness and rigour in the development of a fundamentally national dataset." |
